That's the Royal "us" I suppose!
In other words, this page is about me, the Web Master of this web site.
In case other areas of the mousemat website have temporarily escaped you, it should be pretty obvious that my main interest in in computers. Apart from working in the computing industry as a programmer, analyst and web designer, I also build computers and networks for people in my spare time.
Speaking of which, I don't have anymore. What with keeping this web site up to date (more of that later) and now doing my garden on a regular basis, what free time I have left I read gardening or computer magazines. Sad really, isn't it?
So what's with this web site ?
It all started after I came back from my "holiday of a lifetime" in Costa Rica, Central America. I was so brimful of wanting to shared the experience that I just dumped it all on a fairly plain webpage or 10.
Coincidence it a wonderful thing. Before we went to Costa Rica, and you can
read all about it here, I subscribed to a newsletter for tourists and retirees from the US hoping to stay in Costa Rica. Once I came back, and my subscription had run out, I penned a quick "thank you" note to the guy in Canada who wrote the newsletter.
Turned out he had been running a well-respected and visited web forum on Costa Rica, and he kindly put a link to my web report on his web site. Well, the number of visitors to my web page shot through the roof and I started getting feedback from total strangers. Questions, comments, nice things usually.
That opened the floodgates for me; I reckoned if I had something worthwhile to communicate then I would do it via the web. So you now have various holiday reports on this site, instructions on how to build a computer (that I really must revise soon, to keep up with current technology).
And there's this part of my site, devoted to living in harmony with nature, which I don't need to describe any more because you can read it all for yourselves!
